The VRS system
The Value Recycling System ®
(VRS) is the integrated operating model used by ReMedia for the
purposes of guaranteeing efficient and eco-sustainable
recycling.
The VRS top-level model is founded on the integrated quality and
environment System of the Consortium (ISO 9001 and ISO
14001) and has seven distinctive features:
- Quality approval of suppliers: selection of the best operators
at national level for transporting and recycling WEEE
- Treatment standard: use of the most advanced environmental
standards internationally for the recycling of WEEE
- Control of WEEE flows: integrated information system (Extranet)
for monitoring flows of WEEE and data handling in real
time.
- Plant audits : periodic inspection of authorisations,
organisation, and technologies for implementing continual
improvement plans
- Logging percentage recovery: taking sample lots of WEEE to be
certain that targets are being reached
- Check on use of important parts of WEEE: certainty as to the
compliance with the regulations and maximization of extraction of
value from the materials
- Measurement of environmental benefits: capacity to make a
quantitative assessment of the environmental value of the
recycling
