Under Legislative Decree 151 of 2005, distributors supplying households with new items of EEE have a duty to take back, cost free and on a one-for-one basis, the used equipment.

This provision introduces new operative procedures for the collection of end-of-life products returned by consumers and their carriage to authorised collection sites.

Distributors are also obliged to display the WEEE eco-contribution on the price tag or in any case at the point of sale, when so specifically requested by producers.
