The services provided to local authorities by ReMedia, one of the leading national WEEE-management collective systems, are distinguished by:
- reliability of its collection services (where “collection” means waste removal from the site)
- a choice of the most effective loading containers
- traceability of WEEE
- environmental quality in the treatment and recovery of WEEE
Services to municipal authority collection sites begin with the supply, cost free, by ReMedia's logistical operators of loading containers for holding WEEE. According to the space available and the population area served, ReMedia decides with the collection sites which loading containers to use, either wheeled or bins.
Before requesting (outward) collection, a check must be made to ensure the loading container has been properly filled. To request collection of a loading container, just contact the WEEE Coordination Centre Call Centre through its toll-free number, 800-903146, specifying the WEEE category to be collected.
Once ReMedia has received the call from the WEEE Coordination Centre, it sees to collection of the filled loading container by its authorised suppliers within the time stated in the operating agreement with the local authorities. On collection, the loading container is exchanged for an empty one that the suppliers put in place.
As an alternative to "on call" collection, collection sites may agree with ReMedia on a scheduled collection service.
